TYPES OF FOOTWEAR

Talking about footwear again today we are going to talk about the types of footwear how they are characterized and differentiated.

TYPES OF FOOTWEAR

the footwear are divide in several categories depending on the characteristic under which they fall so lets have a knowledge about it.



ON THE BASIS OF STRUCTURE

If we talk about the structure the main thing we consider is how footwear covers the feet. And the components used too some times.



The two type of footwear are:


  1. Open footwear
  2. Closed footwear

OPEN FOOTWEAR-
                                These footwear are called open as almost the foot is exposed as the sole is attaches with the straps makes it fit and comfortable to wear. Some of the open footwear are: sandals
        Court shoes
        Slippers and flip-flops
  are called closed footwear as they are closed and cover almost whole feet. Are comfortable but must be breathable to be more comfortable. Some of the closed footwear are:
    
CLOSED FOOTWEAR-
                                    These footwear are called closed footwear as they are closed and cover almost whole feet. Are comfortable but must be breathable to be more comfortable. Some of the closed footwear are: Oxford
  1.  Derby
  2.  Boots



ON THE BASIS OF STYLES

If we talk about styles of footwear then whats we understands is how they look wand what's is common in them so that falls under a specific styles.



The seven basic styles of footwear are as follows:


  1. OXFORD
  2. DERBY
  3. SLIP-ON
  4. COURT SHOE
  5. MOCCASIN
  6. SANDALS
  7. BOOT

OXFORD-
                Oxford shoes have got their name from the place oxford in England. This shoes are characterized by the eyelets present on the quarter attached under vamp, that is termed as closed lacing. These shoes are formal. They are normally black and brown in color. 








DERBY-

              Derby shoe is also known as Gibson which is a style of formal shoe in which eyelets present on quarters attached over the vamp and stitched, that is termed as open lacing. Derby got famous in the 20th century and the name derby comes from the lock stitch to attach quarter and Vamp called as derby lock. 


 SLIP-ON-
               Slip-on is the footwear with no fastening and laces on it. If you repeat the name slipon it means just slide your feet in side the footwear and its done. SLIP YOUR FEET makes it easy to wear.
                 

COURT SHOE-
                       In this style of footwear the topline in unbroken means it is closed. These shoes are mainly comes in ladies category one or two variations in gents style. And mainly high heeled shoes are court shoe.









MOCCASIN-

                   Moccasin are shoes named after the construction called moccasin construction as the wall, counter and the bottom forms a single component called "Mud-gaurd" and hand stitched with a component constitute to toe and the instep area of the foot called "Appron" and this hand stitching is called mocassin stitch.



SANDALS-

                Sandals are open type of footwear in which straps are used instead of vamp or quarter. The straps goes through instep area or sometimes through ankle. As necessary for fitting purpose.




BOOTS-

           Boots are style of footwear in which the topline is raised at certain height and a minimum  height which covering the ankle of foot and can be raised till the thigh. These shoes are heavy and had a tough sole material TPR (thermoplastic rubber).
