MATERIALS USED IN MAKING FOOTWEAR

WHAT IS FOOTWEAR?
When we talk about any product present in the market we talk about how it came or how it is made
  So if we talk about how it came you can get it into the history of footwear available at many sites and  my next post will be about history of footwear
   So now we can talk about how is footwear made. But if you want to make any thing you need materials so first have a look on the material used for making footwear.
    Material used for making footwear.

       1. Leather

Leather is a natural material which is obtained by the skin of dead animal. The raw skin of dead animal is treated with some chemicals followed by certain process and the result we get a complete and finished leather.






       2. Synthetic

Synthetis are man made materials made up of artificial fibers which are developed with the help of chemical synthesis using lots of research and study.







       3. Canvas

A strong cloth which unbleached and made from materials like hemp, flex and similar material used to make tents. Canvas can also be a cotton woven cloth used for paintings too.

These materials above shown are the material in making the upper portion of the shoe.

Now what's remaining is the materials for the bottom area which is touches the ground so should be durable to handel the rough surface
So, these are the basic materials used for sole purpose.

       1. Leather

For sole purpose the leather which is used is not same as the leather used for upper making as the sole should be strong enough to withstand the wear and tear due to continuous walking. So, leather used for this purpose is Vegetable tanned leather which has a thickness more than normal leather having thickness more than 6mm.





       2. Rubber

This is a synthetic material chemically synthesis from chemical process which has more durability than the leather sole used so used mostly as cheaper than the leather sole.







3. PU, PVC, EVA, etc

These are also synthetic material but more durable then rubber sole having a long life and more flexible then the regular sole 


  These are the main material used and which are visible to us and their are many other things used that I will let you know in my post of "PROCEDURE OF MAKING A SHOE"
